Abstract
PERMA is a multidimensional well-being model that has contributed greatly to the well-being of people and communities. This research aimed to create the PERMA instrument, which measures the five dimensions of well-being in Malaysia: positive emotions, engagement, positive relationships, meaning in life, and accomplishment, and to assess its factor structure, reliability, and measurement invariance. This study included 550 Malaysians between the ages of 18 and 30 years old (M = 28.49, SD = 6.18). The sample was randomly split into two groups for exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to explore the PERMA model. The revised model revealed satisfactory internal consistency and reliability. Additionally, this study examined the measurement invariance of the PERMA model through gender, education, and marriage groups by multigroup confirmatory factor analysis. The findings revealed that measurement invariance was obtained across gender and education categories. This instrument uses multidimensional conceptualization to offer researchers studying youth well-being in Malaysia a specialized tool to assess and increase youth well-being levels. Eventually, the goal is for this tool to assist Malaysian youth in developing a deeper sense of self by identifying their talents and shortcomings and discovering strategies to thrive in life fully.

Abstract
(1) Background: Climate change mitigation behavior has become a critical area of research, particularly in understanding how family contexts influence such behaviors. However, there is limited empirical comparison of theoretical models explaining this behavior in Chinese families. (2) Purpose: This study aims to compare the effectiveness of three models—the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the Value–Identity–Personal Norm Activation Model (VIP-NAM), and an extended TPB model—in predicting climate change mitigation behavior within Chinese families. (3) Methods: Data were collected from 302 Chinese families in Zhejiang Province. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was used to perform the data analysis in this study. (4) Results: The extended TPB model, incorporating biospheric values, personal norms, and perceived behavioral control, demonstrated superior explanatory and predictive capabilities compared to the TPB and VIP-NAM models. However, metacognitive climate knowledge did not significantly moderate the intention–behavior relationship. (5) Conclusion: The findings underscore the importance of integrating values and norms into theoretical frameworks for better understanding of climate change mitigation behavior. (6) Implications: This study provides insights into designing family-centered interventions and highlights the need to address the intention–behavior gap. Future research should explore additional contextual and cultural factors influencing these behaviors in Chinese families.

Abstract
This study aims to identify the role of parental responsibility as a central driver of health lifestyle behaviors among young mothers who are breast cancer survivors in China. The study also explores the mediating role of attitude and intention and the moderating effect of organizational culture. A cross-sectional survey of 399 young mothers who are breast cancer survivors aged 18–40 years was conducted in Liaoning, China. Data were collected using structured questionnaires. SEM was employed to analyze the relationships among constructs. The results indicate that parental responsibility significantly influences behavior through its effects on attitude (β = 0.156, p < 0.001) and intention (β = 0.142, p = 0.009), with a substantial indirect impact on behavior via attitude and intention (VAF = 47.13%). perceived benefits positively influence attitude (β = 0.144, p = 0.001) and intention (β = 0.023, p = 0.012). Organizational culture was found to moderate the relationship between parental responsibility and behavior. The findings have important implications for the development of culturally sensitive health interventions tailored to young breast cancer survivors. Practical interventions are suggested to assist young breast cancer survivors in enhancing their health behaviors by integrating parental responsibility into health promotion strategies. This study emphasizes how health behaviors can be managed more effectively within the specific cultural context of China. The findings extend the literature on health behavior by integrating parental responsibility into the health behavioral model and theory of reasoned action, offering a framework that enhances the understanding of how culturally relevant factors influence health behaviors among young breast cancer survivors a non-Western context.

Abstract
Breast cancer poses a significant global health challenge, with Iran experiencing particularly high incidence and mortality rates. Understanding the adaptation process of Iranian breast cancer survivors’ post-treatment is crucial. This study explores the health perceptions, barriers, and coping mechanisms of Iranian survivors by integrating Stress-Coping Theory (SCT) and the Health Belief Model (HBM). Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 survivors, and a grounded theory approach guided the deductive content analysis of the data. The findings reveal key themes, including perceived susceptibility, benefits, barriers to care, cues to action, self-efficacy, and appraisal of action. Perceived susceptibility highlights diagnostic challenges stemming from practitioner errors and symptom misconceptions. Perceived benefits underscore the importance of early detection and support from healthcare providers and families. Barriers include cultural and financial obstacles, while cues to action reflect the influence of media, family, and personal experiences on healthcare-seeking behavior. The study also examines coping strategies, such as problem-focused and emotion-focused approaches, along with family support and external stressors. To address these barriers and enhance support systems, the study suggests specific strategies for healthcare providers, including targeted training to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient communication. Culturally sensitive awareness campaigns can correct symptom misconceptions, while financial counseling can mitigate economic barriers. Establishing community-based support groups and involving family members in care plans can enhance emotional and psychological support. These strategies aim to overcome the identified barriers and improve support systems for Iranian breast cancer survivors, ultimately fostering better recovery outcomes.

Document Type: Zeinab Zaremohzzabieh, Seyedali Ahrari, Haslinda Abdullah, Rusli Abdullah, Mahboobeh Moosivand
Journal: Interactive Technology and Smart Education Type: Journal Article years:2024
Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to meta-analytically investigate the impact of educational technology interventions on the development of creative thinking in educational settings. In recent years, the debate among researchers has persisted regarding the impact of various educational technologies, including interactive learning environments, digital instruction and platforms, and educational games and robotics, on students’ creative thinking in diverse educational settings due to inconsistent findings.
Design/methodology/approach
This study, conducting a meta-analysis by synthesizing 35 relevant empirical studies with 2,776 participants, aims to investigate the association between educational technology interventions and the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT) and its subscales (fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration).
Findings
No evident publication bias was found. From a general perspective, the results demonstrate a moderate level of influence of educational technology on the overall TTCT scale, with high heterogeneity attributed to the adopted instruments, mixed methods and target outcomes. Additionally, the results indicate that only three of the TTCT subscales (fluency, flexibility and originality) are influenced by educational technologies. Among the interventions, interactive learning environments yielded medium to the largest mean effect size. Furthermore, moderator analyses suggest that the effects of interventions on two subscales of TTCT (flexibility and originality) are moderated by school types, research design and the duration of intervention. The conclusion drawn is that interventions promoting students’ creative thinking in different educational settings are efficacious.
Originality/value
Despite the low homogeneity of the results, which might have influenced the findings, the large fail-safe N suggests that these findings are robust. The study examined potential causes of heterogeneity and emphasized the importance of further research in this area.

Abstract
Spiritual meditations practiced within green environments develop a perceived interconnection between the self and nature that influences physiological well-being. This study investigates spirituality and natural connectivity as mediators between exposure to nature and psychological well-being in Malaysian school students. This study involved 293 students (178 female and 115 male) from four secondary schools in the Johor Bahru district with survey findings on the Exposure to Nature Scale, Connectedness to Nature Scale, Spiritual Values Scale, and Psychological Well-being Scale. The students in the study fell within the age range of 13 to 16 years, and the average age of the sample was 11.86 ± 2.32 years. Structural equation modeling indicated that high spirituality and nature connectedness mediated the relationship between exposure to nature and psychological well-being. Spirituality significantly influenced the relationship between exposure to nature and psychological well-being more than nature connectedness. These findings indicate that practitioners appreciate the value of certain aspects, like exposure to nature, nature connectedness, and spirituality, as a possible path for enhancing school students’ psychological well-being.

Journal: Eurasian Journal of Educational Research Type: Journal Article years:2024
Abstract
Aim: This systematic review investigates the influence of extracurricular music activities on the emotional and social development of primary school students, with particular attention to the growing trend of parents enrolling their children in such activities. Method: This “craze” surrounding extracurricular music lessons warrants a detailed examination of parental motivations, the nature and extent of this trend, and its implications for both music education and social development. The review also considers the psychosocial factors that may shape attitudes towards after-school music instruction. The preliminary literature review was conducted using the following search terms across ProQuest, Scopus, Web of Science, and ProQuest Dissertations & Theses: “music*” combined with “training,” “instruction,” “education,” or “practice,” and “child*” or “adolescent* Psychology.” Results: The findings suggest that parental values regarding music education may be influenced by factors such as children’s autonomy, enjoyment of music, aspirations for a musical career, development of aesthetic appreciation, and personal achievements. Implications: To support children’s development and to create effective curricula and teaching methods, it is crucial for parents, psychologists, and policymakers to acknowledge the diverse needs and values across different cultural contexts. Educators and decision-makers must understand the importance of fostering supportive learning environments to maintain students’ academic motivation and engagement. Promoting student well-being and academic success requires clear guidance, individualized support, and opportunities for interaction with peers and teachers. This review underscores the need to grasp the intricate factors affecting students’ motivation and involvement in both academic and extracurricular activities.

Abstract
This study seeks to uncover the underlying belief structures that shape the cognitive processes behind the intention of unmarried women toward marriage. To achieve this, the extended theory of planned behavior was utilized as the theoretical framework. Quantitative data were collected from 480 unmarried women in China. Structural Equation Modeling was used to analyze the data. This study followed a two-phase survey procedure. In the first phase, the target population’s beliefs were elicited, and in the second phase, the relationships between those beliefs and other theories of planned behavior constructs were analyzed. The findings indicate that the theory of planned behavior model effectively elucidates the formation of marital intentions among these women. Negative and positive behavior beliefs, normative beliefs, and control beliefs serve as foundational elements for shaping marital attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Notably, marital attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control directly influence marriage intentions. This research offers insights into the factors potentially influencing the marriage perspectives of Chinese unmarried women. It emphasizes the need to refine laws and regulations to better safeguard the rights and interests of Chinese women, especially in areas like marriage, childbearing, employment, and career progression. Furthermore, the study advocates for the provision of services like marriage counseling, emotional education, and family counseling through public institutions to bolster the marriage intentions of these women.

Document Type: Zeinab Zaremohzzabieh, Seyedali Ahrari, Mansoureh Zarean, Samsilah Roslan
Journal: The Family Journal Type: Journal Article years:2024
Abstract
Existing literature on helicopter parenting’s impact on academic achievement and life satisfaction among emerging adults shows significant variability in findings. To address these inconsistencies, this study applies self-determination theory to examine helicopter parenting as a predictor of these outcomes among university students. Using meta-analytic structural equation modeling based on data from 28 studies (29 samples, n = 9,214), the analysis found that helicopter parenting is significantly associated with lower satisfaction and increased frustration of psychological needs. These factors negatively affected life satisfaction and academic performance. The model explained 10% of the variance in academic performance and 26% in life satisfaction, supporting key hypotheses. This study contributes to the parenting literature by synthesizing the effects of helicopter parenting on these outcomes among emerging adults. By applying self-determination theory, the research provides a framework that clarifies the direct impact of helicopter parenting on psychological needs satisfaction and frustration. This analysis not only reconciles previous inconsistencies in the literature but also highlights the importance of psychological needs in understanding the effects of parenting styles, advancing our knowledge of the relationship between parenting behaviors and developmental outcomes in young adults.
